Movie Night School of Rock

Our first Movie Night on the Library Lawn will be on Friday, May 14 at 8 pm at the Marietta Branch Library.

This event will feature School of Rock starring Jack Black.

Bring your own lawn chair, blanket, and snacks.
Social distancing will be observed.
Reservations are required by calling 740-373-1057 x0.

Library Circulation Policy Update

As of April 20, 2021, patrons who have fees of more than $10 or more than 5 overdue items will be denied borrowing privileges until those overdue materials are returned or paid for if lost and/or damaged. If parents owe $10 or more on their own cards, they cannot sign their children up for a Washington County Public Library card. Patrons with fines/fees over $10 are still allowed to use library computers.

Stacks Now Open for Browsing

The stacks at the Washington County Public Libraries are now open. The Lafayette Library will still operate with drive-thru service only. Curbside pickup is still available. We will begin collecting money again on Monday, March 22nd. The hours at all locations will continue to be Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Ohio Mask Mandate

Current order as of April 5, 2021 -

Beginning November 16th at 12:01 AM, all of Ohio will be under a mandatory mask order while out in public, as announced by Governor DeWine. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in the health department closing the library.

Masks must be worn at all times when:

•At an indoor location that’s not a residence
•Outdoors, when unable to keep 6 feet social distance from those not in your household
•When waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation -taxi, car service, private rideshare

This order only requires those who are 10 years old or older to wear a mask. In addition, the following do NOT need to wear a mask:

•Those with a medical condition or a disability or those communicating with someone with a disability
•Those who are actively exercising or playing sports
•Those who are officiants at religious services
•Those who are actively involved in public safety or
•Those who are actively eating or drinking
If you arrive at the library without a mask, we will have masks available for your use.
